THE TREATMENT
What is Botox and How Does It Work?
Botox® is an injectable and FDA-approved to temporarily relaxes the small facial muscles responsible for expression lines, forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and platysma bands — the ones that form from repeated movement like frowning, squinting, or raising your brows.
By softening that muscle activity, Botox smooths existing lines and helps prevent new ones from deepening, while leaving the rest of your expression natural.
Botox is most commonly used to treat:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines (the “11s” between the brows)
- Crow’s feet
- A non-surgical brow lift
- Lip flip (a fuller-looking upper lip without filler)
- TMJ and teeth-clenching tension
Botox vs. Dermal Filler
Botox and filler solve different problems and are often used together. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause movement-related lines; filler restores volume that’s been lost to aging. [Compare all of our injectables here.)
