How to Prep for SkinPen Microneedling at EvolvMD
Once you’re ready to try SkinPen call our office to schedule your consultation. We’ll give you the necessary information you need to know to prepare for your treatment, such as pre- and post-care to follow before and after microneedling sessions. Here are a few things to note ahead of your appointment:
- Use medical-grade skincare for 30 days ahead of your first treatment. This ensures your skin is in clean condition before microneedling.
- Stop using retinol 72 hours before your treatment. Topical retinoid can cause skin irritation, leading to peeling and redness. Continuing use of retinoid before microneedling can make your skin more vulnerable.
- Hydrate well ahead of your microneedling session. The more hydrated you are, the less sensitive your skin will be to the treatment. Proper hydration can also maximize results.
What does the procedure feel like?
It feels like a gentle vibration. Areas such as forehead and upper lip are more sensitive but the procedure is very quick!
How far apart are treatments done?
